Your Donations And Purchases Change Lives

Every time you donate to Goodwill, the items you give become valuable merchandise in our stores. When you buy from Goodwill, you help us complete the circle of dignity.

To fulfill our mission, we take every opportunity to sell or recycle everything we receive. Here are a few of the ways your donations and purchases help us provide vocational opportunities to people with barriers to employment.

  • In 2010 we served more than 34,000 people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
  • Over 93 cents of every dollar raised by the sale of donated goods goes directly back into our services and programs.

  • Less than 15% of all donated goods end up in landfills.

  • Our retail business turned more than 163 million pounds of used clothing and household goods into $104.8 million in sales revenues in 2010.

  • 75% of Goodwill’s total payroll of $64.7 million helped individuals with barriers to employment in 2010.
